M16 production began in 60's. It was developed in response for the need of new infantry rifle that would replace old M1 and M2 constructions. Despite of many initial construction problems, sale of patent rights from Armalite (first M16 manufacturer) to Stoner / Colt and lack of trust from soldiers, M16 has become an icon of U.S. Army soldier equipment. In later period it lived to see many development versions and conversion. Finally, it was replaced by its descendant - M4 rifle. M16 is still being used in some American armed forces.RA-Tech/Inokatsu are unbeatable when it comes to quality of performance and realism. Thanks to Magna gas mechanism known from WA replicas, they shoot with open dust cover. During the mechanism work we are able to see the bolt moving. Fire selector works as in its real steel counterpart - switching it to "safe" mode is only possible after reloading the rifle. Moreover, fire selector has a functional indicator on the right side of the body, and in M16A4 version also the fire selector lever. "Bolt catch" works in the same manner as in real steel rifle.
Replica stripping is similar to original. Pin located over the pistol grip needs to be knocked out and after that the replica can be "broken". Knocking out the front pin allows the upper and lower receiver to be split. Internal parts, as much as they can be adapted to Airsoft conditions, are also made as close to real weapon as possible, making this replica unbeatable against its competition.
